In the 90’s, America fell in love with Tori Spelling when she played Donna Martin on Beverly Hills 90210 (“Free Donna Martin” Anyone?!). Decades later, thousands of fans (including us) have fallen in love with her all over again in her new role as SUPERMOM and DIY-maven extraordinaire! As an actress, author of 3 NY Times bestselling memoirs – sTORI Telling, Mommywood, and Uncharted terriTORI, the star of her popular reality show Tori & Dean, wife to Dean McDermott (since 2006), and mother of four (yes 4!) beautiful kids ages six and under, Tori is notorious for intimately revealing her everyday antics onscreen and in print. We’re in awe of how she finds the time to do all this, keep it together, AND manage to update her blog EdiTORIal by Tori Spelling on a daily basis!
Tori is famously honest and self-deprecatingly funny when it comes to her personal life, and she’s the first to admit that the “reality” behind her popular television show, Tori & Dean, isn’t always real. She’s always Spelling It Like It Is … which is also the name of her fabulous new book, released October 22. In it, Tori shares personal stories with her usual humor, candor, and down-to-earth charm.

Stress. We all suffer from it at one point or the other, if not daily. Nervousness, irritability, the feeling that you want to strangle the living sh*t out of anyone that crosses your path… mental exhaustion. Do you pick up what I’m putting down?
Look, stress doesn’t just affect the way you feel, there are actual physical reactions that your body goes through. Some of them include: (I’m going to sound very doctor-y right now)
Central Nervous System: Anxiety Depression & Fatigue
Cardiovascular System: High Blood Pressure/ Heart Attack Risk
Digestive System: Stomach Ulcers, The RUNS!
Respiratory System: Shortness of Breath
Immune System: Lowered Resistance To Infections
Endocrine System: Menstrual, Thyroid & Adrenal Disorders
Skin: Eczema & Rashes
You’re exhausted… wiped out… You’re absolutely not getting enough sleep at night. You’re overwhelmed and the kids aren’t making it any easier on you. Your brain is on overload. Let’s face it, you’re stressed out.
Most mornings before your feet even hit the ground you’re already thinking about packing lunches, who has their backpack? and did I throw that wet load of laundry into the dryer last night?!
Reading this will probably even cause your heart to start beating a little faster because you know it’s true.
So here’s the thing, most of us when we are stressed will most likely go for that tempting high carbohydrate & fatty comfort food. You know which ones I’m talking about… don’t make me go there. But while you might feel that you’re solving your stress and anxiety, it’s actually only a farce. That momentary feeling of relief is essentially doing more harm than good. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing more than I love than to dig into a chocolate cake! But sometimes you just need to listen to what your body needs and give it some help when it comes to de-stressing!
Take two deep breaths… come on, do it… breath in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out… and read on as your stress levels are about to fall into oblivion!
