Jump into Spring & Boost Your Metabolism

Spring has almost sprung and you should too! It’s time to shed that winter sluggishness and rev up your metabolism for the ‘tank-top & shorts’ season that’ll be here before you know it.  One of the best and, I think, most fun ways to boost your metabolism is by simply JUMPING! And all it takes is 2 minutes.

jumping vectors copyJust 2 minutes of jumping up and down will tune your cardiovascular system, strengthen and tone your muscles, cleanse your lymphatic system, and strengthen your immune system, which helps keep your body’s natural defenses high and reduces the chance of getting sick.  In fact, the benefits of regular bouncing are supported by NASA’s scientific research, which states that jumping on trampoline is 68% more efficient than running, making it one of the best forms of exercise.

The NASA report, published by the “Journal of Applied Physiology,” showed that 10 minutes of bouncing on a trampoline provides the same level of results as 33 minutes of running, leading them to claim that “rebound exercise is the most efficient, effective form of exercise yet devised by man.”

trampoline ladyWhat’s more, jumping up and down, whether on a trampoline or in front of the TV, releases endorphins, your body’s natural “feel-good” chemicals, which help to reduce stress, anxiety and depression, and leave you feeling invigorated.

So, as James Brown shouted, “GET UP OFFA THAT THING”… and start bouncing!  2 minutes is all it takes.
