Come two thirty, three o’clock when the kids get home from school I feel it coming on… you know, the WALL that you hit when you’re just like blaaaaahhhhhhh! It’s about mid-way through 3rd grade homework and starting to make dinner. Rather than go for that afternoon latte that’s probably going to keep me awake way longer at night than I wanna be and prevent me from getting a good night’s sleep, I’ve come up with my own fatigue fighting concoction that’s actually healthy, full of essential vitamins, protein and minerals… tastes amazing and will give me a natural boost of energy with out feeling like I’m on crack.
So come afternoon time today, go for this drink instead!
1 Orange Peeled and Cut Up
1 Banana Cut Up
½ Cup Greek Yogurt
¾ Cup Coconut Water
1 Teaspoon of Honey
1 Teaspoon Flaxseed Oil
You’ll be guaranteed good healthy energy in a matter of minutes!
Why this works?
Oranges & Bananas: Probably your best line in defense when it comes to fatigue, immunity boosters and will get your body to produce those enzymes that moderate energy production.
Greek Yogurt: Filled to the brim with PROTEIN, low in calories. This will add that silky smooth texture to the drink too!
Coconut Water: You know by now that Michelle & I are huge advocates of COCONUT WATER! It’s amazing! A natural diuretic, it’ll get things moving in your body and keep you hydrated all the while!
Honey: Not only is it straight up sweetness goodness, but it is one of the best sources for pure glucose to boost your energy! It’s also full of antioxidants and vitamins. (Little known fact: the darker the honey, the more disease-fighting compounds it has)
Flaxseed Oil: It will also help slow down the release of the sugar from the fruits to the bloodstream so that you’ll get a nice long supply of energy! Sweet!
