Improve Your Sleep in the New Year!

“Getting More Sleep” is a New Year’s resolution that many people (often tired & cranky people) make.  Well, in case y’all didn’t know, yesterday was National Sleep Day!  What exactly that means, I really don’t know. Is it a green light to knock myself out with a few Xanax? Probably not.  Oh well…

Why, when, and who created this bizarre holiday remains a mystery, but it stands to remind us all of the importance of sleep and the absolute hell that comes from lack of it.  How many of us have all too vivid memories of holding a 2-month old baby at 3am feeling like we were going to die?!

Who doesn’t love chocolate?

Who doesn’t love Chocolate? We all have the craving for something sweet from time to time! (some of us more than others!) Don’t be so hard on yourself … turns out a daily dose of dark chocolate (3.5 oz) can avert 85 heart attacks per 10,000 people. So not only does it improve cardiovascular health but it’s an an incredible antioxidant! Consider yourself part of that number and go for a nibble! No really, it’s that good for you! Dark chocolate.. yay or nay?


Eat Your Way To Hydration!


Hydration.  It’s one of those things that as moms we don’t really think about all that much.  I mean, our feet hit the ground running as soon as the alarm clock (a.k.a. kids in your face) starts making that noise that no person should start their day with and then we are go! go! go!   The last thing on my mind is “Did I get my 8 glasses of water in today?!”  I’m lucky if I get 2.  That being said, it doesn’t hurt to keep your bottle of Smart Water handy.
