I’m all about prevention when it comes to aging, wrinkles and keeping that youthful glow! I have never tried Botox, Juvederm, Restalyne or anything like that… but I’m certainly not opposed to it! Good God! Anything that’ll shave a few years off this face or make me look younger, by all means… BRING IT ON!!! Slather it on my face! Inject it between my frown lines!!!
But, what if I told you that in addition to some of those fixes, there are a few natural secrets & remedies as well as avoiding a few things that might give you similar results! It’s worth shot, right?
Believe it or not, Vitamin C is not only super effective when it comes to helping your body fight off colds, but it’s great for the fight against wrinkles! Try boosting your diet with oranges, grapefruit, limes & lemons! Any sort of citrus! Vitamin C: “It helps keep collagen — the supportive protein fibers that stop skin from sagging — strong and resilient. (Flimsy collagen means lines and wrinkles.) Since collagen breakdown really picks up in your mid-30s, eat citrus early and often to head off aging” according to realage.com.
Next time you’re making a salad or grilling some fish, try this Cilantro-Lime dressing! Read more »

Most of us start out the New Year with the best of intentions. We want to live better. Get more sleep. Stress less. Get more exercise and eat right. Sort of wiping the slate clean from the year before and starting a new. Whether or not you stick to none, a few or all of these resolutions, mantras or promises you make with that little internal voice that keeps you awake at night, is up to you… but if you want to at least attempt to start off on the right foot, try this detox soup.
If you’re starting that new diet this year… want to just drop a few of the pounds that you’ve gained over the holidays…or want to be overall healthy, you is gonna dig this soup!
You’re literally going to flush out the toxins of 2012 and move into the fiber of 2013!
Is it just me, or does it seem like holiday gift lists are getting longer and longer every year? In addition to the kids, family, and friends, there are gifts for the teachers, teacher’s aides, babysitters, mailmen, doormen, garbage men… and the list goes on!
To make your gift giving easier, here are my top 10 gifts in both high and low prices. Of course, the men in the above-mentioned list might prefer a bottle of scotch or some good ‘ole cash. But many men will appreciate a scented candle, especially if they think it will bring them a night of romance. Successful re-gifting is always an option for them too!
So off we go, here are my 2012 gift picks (which I’m sure you’ll LOVE for yourself too) … Read more »
Who doesn’t love Chocolate? We all have the craving for something sweet from time to time! (some of us more than others!) Don’t be so hard on yourself … turns out a daily dose of dark chocolate (3.5 oz) can avert 85 heart attacks per 10,000 people. So not only does it improve cardiovascular health but it’s an an incredible antioxidant! Consider yourself part of that number and go for a nibble! No really, it’s that good for you! Dark chocolate.. yay or nay?
Day after Thanksgiving. You’ve eaten almost three times your weight in food. You feel sick. You feel bloated. You feel like you would like to ex-communicate yourself from certain family members… specifically Aunt Marge (I know no one who has an Aunt Marge, so this will not be offensive to anyone I know) who made that ridiculously delicious Apple Crumble dessert that you could literally taste the 4 sticks of butter that went into it, but didn’t care because it was so good. Let’s face it… you’re a few pounds heavier for the wear thanks to that all “Thankful” day! More like NO-THANK-ful day!!
You’re in need of a little detox… you’re in need of a Peau-Pay tea. pronounced: [poo-pee]
A Vajacial… a WHAT????
When it comes to the bikini area, everyone (or at least everyone I know!) wants to be neat and clean for as long as possible so as to avoid the excruciating pain of waxing. For busy moms, simply knowing that you’ve taken care of yourself ‘down there’ is a stress-reliever in itself since it’s one less thing to think about when you cuddle up to your partner at night.
If you’re used to shaving, normal waxing or Brazilian (which is, for those of you who don’t know, the removal of all the hair in the bikini area except for maybe a small landing strip), you’re probably used to the occasional annoying ingrown hairs that appear a few days after waxing. Well, ladies, I’m happy to report that help is here! Read more »
