Mommy’s Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe To Fight The Flu!

If you’re like more than half of the country right now… myself included, you are either battling the flu, had the flu in the last week or are taking care of a kid or husband that has the flu. 

From experience, I can tell you it was probably the worst thing that’s hit me in at least 20 years.  Fever, chills, and ugh, that body ache!  Yeah, mommy was down for the count.  Oh, did I mention that my husband and kids all had it at the same time I did… yes, that was a fun weekend.

Even though the Tylenol, Motrin, Robistussin and Kleenex helped with some of our symptoms, the only thing that did make us truly feel better was chicken noodle soup… and it’s no surprise.  There’s actually scientific proof that chicken noodle soup actually does help you when you’ve got a cold or flu.

10 Minute Recharge

The kids are finally back in school after what seemed like an eternity of them being home!  Doesn’t it seem like moons ago when you were shopping for Christmas gifts? Well, they’re outta the house for at least a few hours! While it may seem like the task you have at hand now is getting your household back on track or looking at that pile of work that you left hanging before the end of the year on your desk at the office… don’t feel like you have to tackle it all just yet!

Detox Soup Recipe

Most of us start out the New Year with the best of intentions.  We want to live better.  Get more sleep.  Stress less.   Get more exercise and eat right. Sort of wiping the slate clean from the year before and starting a new.  Whether or not you stick to none, a few or all of these resolutions, mantras or promises you make with that little internal voice that keeps you awake at night, is up to you… but if you want to at least attempt to start off on the right foot, try this detox soup.

Drink Vodka Lavender Lemon Pound Cake

This recipe comes courtesy of a good friend of ours that lives here in town near us.  Interactive baking. We LOVE it! Now this is what we call fun in the kitchen!!!

Vodka Christmas Cake Recipe

1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 cup water, 1 tsp. salt , 1 cup brown sugar, Lemon juice, 4 large eggs, Nuts, 1 bottle Vodka, 2 cups dried fruit.

Instructions:
Sample a cup of Vodka to check quality.

Take a large bowl, check the Vodka again to be sure it is of the highest quality then repeat.

Turn on the electric mixer…Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point, it is best to make sure the Vodka is still OK. Try another cup just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the fruit up off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl a piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner.
