So when I was a kid, I’d go to school with my brown paper bag lunch and I’d open it up praying for a nice PB&J sandwich only to find something that represented a pita “torpedo” sandwich that usually had something like Lebni, (think thick yogurt) crushed mint and few slices of a Persian cucumber in it…. dessert was not a Hostess cup cake… oh no, no friends, it was dried apricots. Yeah, try trading that with your school buddy. Fat chance!
At the time, I was absolutely mortified and wished that my Armenian roots were more like my nice American friend Suzy…who’s mom so graciously even thought to put a fruit roll up in her lunch.
In actuality, looking back my mom had it all right though. Drawing from my Middle Eastern roots led me to grow up eating something very similar to the Mediterranean Diet. Yes, that very same Mediterranean Diet that according to a recent study published by The New England Journal of Medicine’s Web site this past Monday, proved that about 30% of heart attacks, strokes & deaths from heart disease can be prevented if people switch to a diet rich in olive oil, nuts, beans, fish fruits & veggies… AKA The Mediterranean Diet.

Reading this will probably even cause your heart to start beating a little faster because you know it’s true.
So here’s the thing, most of us when we are stressed will most likely go for that tempting high carbohydrate & fatty comfort food. You know which ones I’m talking about… don’t make me go there. I’m all about prevention when it comes to aging, wrinkles and keeping that youthful glow! I have never tried Botox, Juvederm, Restalyne or anything like that… but I’m certainly not opposed to it! Good God! Anything that’ll shave a few years off this face or make me look younger, by all means… BRING IT ON!!! Slather it on my face! Inject it between my frown lines!!!
But, what if I told you that in addition to some of those fixes, there are a few natural secrets & remedies as well as avoiding a few things that might give you similar results! It’s worth shot, right?
Believe it or not, Vitamin C is not only super effective when it comes to helping your body fight off colds, but it’s great for the fight against wrinkles! Try boosting your diet with oranges, grapefruit, limes & lemons! Any sort of citrus! Vitamin C: “It helps keep collagen — the supportive protein fibers that stop skin from sagging — strong and resilient. (Flimsy collagen means lines and wrinkles.) Since collagen breakdown really picks up in your mid-30s, eat citrus early and often to head off aging” according to realage.com.

It’s about mid-way through 3rd grade homework and starting to make dinner. So come afternoon time today, go for this drink instead!
